CITY OF SAN FERNANDO --- President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, the first president of the Philippines who has tendered her certificate of candidacy for the congressional race will be opposed by Feliciano Galcim Serrano and Filipinas Rosario Dayrit-Cea Sampang both independent aspirants in the 2nd district race for congress in 2010.

For the gubernatorial race, it’s a three cornered fight among Governor Eddie Panlilio, former Board Member Lilia G. Pineda and Ricardo Sunglao Ocampo Jr. Ricardo Sunglao Ocampo Jr.

Vice Governor Joseller “Yeng” Guiao will be facing Marcos Jose Tirona Lazatin for the one-on-one vice gubernatorial race.

In the first district of Pampanga, Rep. Carmelo Feliciano Lazatin will be challenged by Angeles City Councilor Ares Yuzon Yabut in a three cornered congressional derby.

Third District Rep. Aurelio ‘Dong” Gonzales will slug it out with Liberal Party candidate Jose Dizon Quiwa III and Amado De Leon Santos an independent candidate.

For the congressional derby in the 4th district, Rep. Anna York Bondoc will face a rematch with former DOTC Assistant Secretary Rene Maglanque.

The board member wannabes in the 1st district are Crisostomo Cunanan Garbo, Tarcicio Dela Cruz Halili, Alexander Henson Pineda, Reynaldo Panlilio Rivera and Feliciano Cunanan Pangan.

In the 2nd district, the provincial board aspirants are Edna Ausen David, Teresito Layug Lingad, Salvador Barin Dimson Jr., Michael Consunji Mangiliman, Janne Reyes Ayen, Magdalena David Manabat and Maricar Espina Cruz.

It can be noted that the ruling Lakas Kampi CMD has completed their line up from the governor, congressman, board members, mayors down to the municipal councilors.

However, the Liberal Party led by provincial chair Panlilio failed to complete their party line up. They have no congressional wannabes in 1st district, 2nd district and 4th district. They have no complete line up for board members, mayors, vice mayors and councilors.

All the incumbent Pampanga mayors were all Lakas-Kampi-CMD members and allies except for City of San Fernando Mayor Oscar Rodriguez.

Bangon Pilipinas has two candidates for board members (Tuazon and Amurao) while the NPC has filled up two candidates for congress in the 1st and 4th district while the Nationalist Party has one candidate for Congress (Bondoc) and one for board member (Tolentino).
