APALIT - Six persons claiming to be agents of Pampanga’s Best were arrested the other day in this town for swindling several small businessmen.

Apalit Chief of Police Homer Penecilla identified the suspects as Myra Pantig, 43, Elmer Banggilan, 44, Ronilo Faigmane 36, Arel Papio, 19, Gabriel Odoc, 19 and Joseph Bagaoisan, 29.

According to Penecilla, the suspects were caught in the act of victimizing certain Abigail Alfonso, resident of sitio Ala-Uli San Vicente Village here.

It was disclosed during the initial investigation that prior to the arrest, the vehicle of the suspects was spotted by one of the previous victims heading towards Sulipan village. With this, the local police assigned in the newly established satellite police station near the village was contacted for the immediate apprehension. (Herbert P. Mapiles)

“Nag-iikot sila sa mga sari- sari store dito, nagpapakilala silang mga ahente ng Pampanga’s Best at may promo daw sila. Sa halagang P4,800 ay pwedi na kaming magtinda ng produkto ng Pampanga’s Best, bibigyan pa daw nila kami ng produkto katumbas ng nasabing halaga”, Dean Cruz, sari-sari store owner said.

According to one of the victims, if the said amount is already available, Myra Pantig representing herself as the supervisor of the said company will come to explain the terms and conditions of the contract.

“Sabi pa nga nila isang freezer at idi-deliver within three days basta naibigay na namin ang halagang P4,800, pero lahat pala ng ito ay hindi totoo, at niloloko lamang pala nila kami, one of the victims said.

Relative to this, Gerwin Olalia, sales manager of Pampanga’s Best said, the arrested suspects were not in any way connected with their company.

Pecilla also encourage other victims to come out and file formal complaint to strengthen the case against the suspects.

The suspects are now charged with large scale estafa before office of the Provincial Prosecutor but temporarily detained in the municipal police station.
