CITY OF SAN FERNANDO --- The Chief Security Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Region 3 has recommended the banning of three persons who introduced themselves as members of the local press from entering the DPWH

premises.

Villamor Victorino, DWPH chief security identified the local press which he called ‘ media scalawags’ as a certain Ed Aguilar, a namesake of Ed Aguilar a.k.a Macky Pangan, columnist in this newspaper and Bryan Onofre and his brother Jess Onofre who presented themselves as local field reporters and publisher.

This developed as the so called three media scalawags had engaged themselves in a scuffle inside the DPWH office, according to Victorino.

The chief security said that on November 16 at 2:30 in the afternoon, these local news reporters quarreled to the extent of engaging themselves in fishfight at the second floor of the DPWH in front of the office of Assistant Regional Director Marcelina Ocampo.

“Nabigla iyong mga empleyado ng opisina, nagkagulo akala nila kung ano ang nangyari kaya kaming mga guardiya ay dagli namin silang inawat habang nagsusuntukan at nagsasakalan,” he said.

Based on the instant investigation made by Victorino, these three “media scalawags” had engaged themselves in a brawl due to misunderstanding regarding the personal life and old feud.

“Kami naman dito sa DPWH, kahit sinong tao na gustong lumapit sa aming tanggapan, pinapapasok namin dahil nga ito ay public office pero huwag naman sanang dalhin pa rito pati iyong personal nilang away. Kaibigan natin ang media kaya sana naman panatiliin nila ang integridad ng kanilang napiling propesyon kung talagang tunay nga silang miembro ng media,”Victorino added. (Joel P. Mapiles)
