CANDABA - As Bon Alejandrino, a former "supremo" of the Hukbong Mapagpalaya ng Bayan (HMB), seems to adhere the public clamor in Arayat, he is expected to file his certificate of candidacy for mayor of the said town today.

Alejandrino, a well-known "Robin Hood" of Arayat and nearby municipalities, is running under the Liberal Party. His complete line-up includes Alejandro Balagtas for vice mayor and Nicasio Buan,Mariano Hermandra, Rene Cueva, Alice Simbol, Renato Guinto, Ernesto David, Bernie Sarmiento and Rowena Santos for councilors.

The former HMB leader said the people of Arayat need a leader who listens and give importance to the needs of the people. “Ang paghabol ko sa pagka mayor ay udyok ng taong bayan, sila ang nagbibigay sa akin ng lakas upang sumabak sa darating na halalan,” Alejandrino said.

“Ang aking bahay ay bukas kahit kanino na humihingi tulong, minsan nga madilim pa ay nagdadatingan na ang mga taong nagpapatulong, hindi ko ipinagkakait ang aking sarili basta para sa mga kababayan ko, he added.

In an interview with Alejandrino, he has disclosed few of his agenda, which include educational supports, environmental programs, social insurance for senior citizens, livelihood supports and cooperative empowerment.

According to the residents in one the villages in Arayat, Alejandrino is like a hero to them as he is quick providing their immediate needs in times they need it most. “Pagkatapos ng landslide dumating si Bon kasama ng kaniyang asawa at namigay sila ng pagkain, damit, kumot at tsinelas,” one of the residents said.

Alejandrino hoped that the elections in Arayat would be peaceful and clean as he wishes that may the best and well-loved candidate win in the mayoralty contest. (Herbert P. Mapiles)
